PODCAST: THE BUSINESS OF ART
Both business and art are stamina competitions against time. Who will be able to hold on long enough to reach the eventual breakthrough moment?
At 6 years in the publishing industry, I was invited to sit down with Hrudaya Raj, a content creator who is holding her own in this game of endurance. She once shared with me that she was stuck for years at less than 50 subscribers. She kept going. She's currently on centi-numbers of cumulative followings. More to come, I'm certain.
Raj and I spoke about that intersection between being an author and being a business person. An author interview meets a business interview. A crossover.
Here is the recording of the full crossover chat between me and Raj. How much money was needed to start a publishing house, what it means to create a founder led brand that is not reliant on the founder's presence, the grand future vision for my 400 series of books. I share a few vulnerable things I've never shared before, and may choose not to share again.
This was a brief slice of conversation in between work, with so much still to uncover. I can always be reached for further content pieces through the team at the publishing company.
